Sport Stacking (Winter/Spring)

Overview: Sport stacking is a sport where athletes stack specially-designed cups in set patterns. There are three individual events (3-3-3, 3-6-3 and Cycle) and two team events (Doubles and the Timed 3-6-3 Relay) in sanctioned World Sport Stacking Association Competitions.

USA Sport Stacking also provides a League format where teams compete in matches in 5 events and earn points for winning each event. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins.

Stacking League

What is Stacking League?

Stacking League provides an opportunity for teams to compete in dual meets over the course of a season.

Schools can have up to 2 teams of 4-6 stackers compete at each dual meet. The team can have more than 8-12 team members on their school team to attend practices and train for other events outside of City League.

Leagues are designed to have 4-8 teams.

Dual Meets & League Championship

Dual Meets

The League Master sets up a schedule so that each team plays a different team each week. The League Master provides the equipment for the matches and sets up the tables for the dual meet and runs the matches. Two teams compete at a time at each table and each match takes 30 minutes or less. Two referees are needed to run each match.

League Championships

At the end of the season, teams have a championship tournament with a bracket seeded based on points earned throughout the season. Teams progress through either a single or double elimination bracket (decided on by coaches) at the championship tournament.

Jerseys

Teams will provide their own jersey or uniform shirt.

Equipment

Sport stacking requires little equipment. Stackers need a mat, timer and cups. Speed Stacks is the official sponsor and equipment of USA Sport Stacking and the WSSA and Speed Stacks brand cups are the only brand allowed in official competitions. The league fee includes the cost of a set that is provided to each participant.

Cost

Per player cost: $100 per player paid to USA Sport Stacking

From this fee, USA Sport Stacking pays the league master, the coaches and the referees, facilities and a set of equipment (mat, timer and cups) for each player.
